Prince Li Jiancheng and his supporters were put to death following the Xuanwu Gate Incident, and all six of his sons—aside from one who passed away too soon—were implicated. Only the records of "the second daughter Wenxi County Lady Li Wanshun, courtesy name Wangniang, married Liu Yingdao" and "eldest daughter Li" remained in the historical record, nevertheless. The Yongning Princess Li Changge, whose parents had an unexplained and perplexing relationship with Li Shimin, emerged in these Li's mysteries. After learning of her mother's suicide and her father's murder following the Xuanwu Gate Incident, Changge fled the palace with bitterness and assumed the identity of a man in order to conceal her identity and bring troops back to Chang'an to exact revenge on her parents.
